I use blogspot also and would love to personalize it more.<BR/>About the lettuce...I'm not even going to pretend to have a good idea, but the washer sounds different:)Liz Nickshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09214871440304712085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2690951993051284210.post-45698778742856833172008-01-09T13:17:00.000-08:002008-01-09T13:17:00.000-08:00The key is to open the bag or wrap the lettuce com...The key is to open the bag or wrap the lettuce comes in - if you leave it closed it collects moisture and gets soggy - for romaine the tip to wash and then dry the leave is great - I wrap them in paper towel, put them into a zip lock veggie bag (has holes in it) and leave it part open. I find the precut bag salads the worse - I only buy them if I know I will use it all up that night.Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17342729778890255424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2690951993051284210.post-5651330298774056612008-01-09T12:32:00.000-08:002008-01-09T12:32:00.000-08:00A lot depends on the type of lettuce. Metal turns it brown. I am interested in the pillow case idea!Melanie @ This Ain't New Yorkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17210688612707551402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2690951993051284210.post-46214552670618737552008-01-09T06:42:00.000-08:002008-01-09T06:42:00.000-08:00If you wrap a head of iceberg lettuce in aluminum ...If you wrap a head of iceberg lettuce in aluminum foil it lasts for a long time.Arizona Mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16125951765328081394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2690951993051284210.post-89663373289215716872008-01-09T06:01:00.000-08:002008-01-09T06:01:00.000-08:00Thanks for the comment and the advice. Knot the pillow case and throw it in your washer on the spin cycle. Once done the lettuce should be dry. Throw it in a plastic bag with a dry paper towel to catch excess moisture. It works like a charm. (If the washer thing grosses you out, just pat and air dry and then still put in a bag with a paper towel.) Sorry for the long comment, hope this helps.Lizz @ Yes, and So is My Hearthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15812794591947746384noreply@blogger.com
