Busy Fall

I have to say that I am ready for October to be over with. It has been a long, hard, busy month.
I'm 22 weeks pregnant and feel great, but I run out of steam by about 7:00 every night. Compund that with some yucky hours from hubby's work and I am give out.

We have had soccer

Rainy Days

Today is a rainy, rainy day. Day #3 of rain in California and I am a bit sick of it.

Yesterday I made:

Sloppy Joe's

and

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
They were both yummy.
I'm on the lookout for something equally delicious today.

Could you live on a boat?

Sail the Seven Seas? Visit different ports of call? Be a parrot head?

We spent the day on some friends boat recently just relaxing. The water was a little cold for swimming but that did not stop the munchkins from diving in and testing the chill factor themselves. The family that we went with is looking for a larger boat to retire on. Totally unlike me, I would sink the boat with all the things that I need. It did get me to thinking.
I keep wondering if I could give it all up and sail around the world. I get cold feet when talking about orders and moving terrified that I will end up on the other side of the world. We are so close to my family that we have made decisions and request on where to live based on location to home. We love the relationship that the kids have with all of the their grandparents. Could we keep that up if we are so far away? What if something happened to one of them while we are away, am I robbing my kids of getting to know their grandparents. Will they have the relationship that I had with my grandparents? I would not know how to cook if it was not for my grandmother.
Back to sailing. It would be fabulous for us to wake up to the beach everyday. Walks on the beach at sunset are our family favorites. Swimming in the ocean for the better part of the year would make my kids happy. IMAGINE the education they could get from visiting other countries, islands, and communities all from your sailboat. Home, school, sanctuary. Is it more important to have an address to call home or a place to call home? Hmmm? My cousins are miltary brats who are raising their families in one place now. They tell everyone that they are not from anywhere, sometimes that makes them smile and sometimes that makes them sad. The truth is that neither one of them had an interest in anyone military related and I think it was because they were tired of being nomads. Me, I am still excited when it come to moving. Always tired, but excited as well.
So choice is not left for me to make, but I can control how I react to it. Dread and contempt will breed the same in my kids, just as easily as excitement and daring adventure. O by the way, that is not their boat, but they are dreaming about it.

Look what's we see.

A heron has taken to fishing in the little stream that backs up to a lot of the houses on base. We have enjoyed watching tadpoles, minnows, and now a heron. This is the only heron that comes back here. It like our special treat.
Have a great weekend. Amanda

I sit

I sit with a tall glass of sweet teas in hand and listening to absolutely nothing. I am all alone since my surgery went awry. I have not had the chance to think things thru, but I just woke up from my nap fever free and the headache is gone. The memory verse "I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me," continues to flash thru my head. As aggravating and uncomfortable as I am, I have been able to get some sleep and some relief from the medications. Normally medicine makes me feel like I am ready to jump out of my skin, but not this time.

Ryan took the kids to his parents for the weekend, they needed a break from what is going on here and having to see their mom down and out like I am . Very unusual for me to be on couch and not taking care of their every whim. This weekend they will have grandparents, cousins, and a pool to keep them busy. I am imagine by next weekend the pool will be winterized.

We are preparing to move again. My life has been a roller coaster ride from day one of 2007, when my husband and I separated. Although, we are working thru our problems; I have not moved back to where he lives because I am working full time and C is in school. I was not ready to change everything yet. With a possible move to NC and the drive going to 12 hours instead of 4, we will move with him to NC. Saying all of that to say that homeschool is back on the table for an option. I am working on ideas and options for the area we are moving to. I would love to get involved in a HS coop, so that some classes could be taken together with other families. This helps build a community of supporters around us. That is important for mom and the kids, since Ryan is in the Navy and will be gone some.

Which brings me back to "I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me" I do know that if the Lord brings me to it, He can bring me thru it. One step forward is all I have to do between now and then.
Until Later, Amanda

Living Too!

I moved my blog over to a new home and a new name. Right now, I want to blog without someone looking over my shoulder and since I have the suspicion that someone I know is lurking, I decided that now is the time to move.
So why Living Too? Because, I am a working mom, keeping up with two kids, and surviving. I am living my life and raising to kids. I work my tail off to provide and be everyone that i need to be. Most I am living.
One thing that I am going to do is limit pictures of my kids and photos, since this is not a blog that my family reads I need to be more careful.
I've got a lot rambling around in my head and hope to get back on the blogging wagon soon. I am going to contact my old friends and let them know where I am. Until then, Happy Tuesday.
