The Word & Colonial America

So the word came down this week and R is penciled into class in San Diego. He will start in January or April. The class is one year and very hard. Many people do not move their families, but coming off our 2nd deployment in 2 years. we will not stay behind. I look forward to moving to San Diego and all that there is to see and explore. It will be so expensive. The time line is crazy. He gets home in October and possibly checking out of here and moving in December and classes begin in January. You would almost hope for the April class, but we are ready to get this going. He is excited about the class and I do not want that hampered by time.

Until then, we are learning about Colonial America and trying our first lapbook. I think that this will be fun for C. She is a hands on girl. Anyway, head over to CurrClick, sign up, and get the Colonial America lapbook download. There is tons of booklets that will keep you all busy for a while.

It is raining here and so a movie, popcorn, and maybe a nap are in our future. Take Care.

In the World of a Boy

My little man has broadened his horizons lately. Along the way he has picked up new words, some cute some not!
  • Swiper is responsible for everything, including blowing down the 3 little pigs house.
  • Snakes and bears live in his room.
  • He knows how to play dead, with the proper gruesome face.
  • He is scared of ghosts.

There are more and I cannot seem to remember them. I know that it all a ploy to get some attention and quite amusing. What excuses do your kids give when they do not want to go to their room or they do not want to take responsibility of their actions. Who knew that 3 year olds could be so sneaky. :)

We are still waiting on the hubs to leave. So aggravating, he was home yesterday and had to go to work today. So I am assuming that they are hearing something, but they heard something last week and it fell through. The guys that they are replacing are irritated that they cannot come home yet. Everyone is feeling some anxiety and it is starting to show. We love our Daddy and it will be hard to say goodbye, but I am know that he is ready to get this started.

What a week

On top of keeping the laundry caught up because I am worried that R might get the call to report. We have had a pretty good week and great weather for spending some time outside. My little man made a new friend and has decided that he wants to spend all his waking time with him. He is a sweet boy from down the street and we have enjoyed getting to know him and his family. On top of that, her husband is deployed as well and so we will have something in common.
My gal, C, is going to see Horton Hear a Who today. I am so excited for her. She has read the book and is ready for the adventure.
I have no idea what the weekend holds. I got a bunch of books at the library so if anything maybe I can sit in sun and read a book. We might definitely have to take a walk on the beach, play in the sand, and fly our kites.
Have a great weekend

Back in the recliner again

I am back in the recliner this morning, and thank you Lord for the scripture, "I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me." I need some strength this morning, I am not feeling good and I need the courage to make my doctor understand that something is not right. I am tired, we are on our 3rd night of little sleep. The kids are holding up and going with the flow. Everyone is where they are supposed to be right now.

Caroline has chosen to do her report on the supersaurus. We saw the name in a book and decided to look into it to see if that was an actual dinosaur. We also have to draw the dinosaur and write his name, not so simple a task for a first grader.

Have a great day. Amanda

Homework

Do you remember homework? I do and I always dreaded it, but I hope that when I started school that looked forward to it as much as C did tonight. How exciting that first sheet of homework and those spelling words were for her. Words like I, In, It and At. She absolutely knew that she was a big kid.

I have other homework going on? The Lord is working on my heart. I am trying to stop fighting the urge to take care of things myself. Making a list and putting things in order is what I do best. I have left my problems with the Lord. Now waiting, now who really waits easily!

More to come.
